The specific purpose of this work package is to prepare a "Virtual Environmental Education Platform". The most relevant priority of the project is to support the digital and green capabilities of higher education. Additional priorities were "Environment and fight against climate change" and "Stimulating innovative learning and teaching practices". This output of
the project is aligned with these priorities and contributes to the objectives of the project. The modular curriculum, detailed in the previous section and produced as the first output of the project, will be implemented in environmental education. As a result of this, contents will be produced with augmented reality (AR) applications. These prepared contents, videos and presentations will be presented to pre-service teachers via a virtual platform. With this platform, both digital skills and green skills of students will be supported. AR applications are among the most innovative of today's digital technologies. Innovative learning and teaching practices will be encouraged, thanks to the platform to be created using AR applications. In addition, this platform will contribute to the fight against environment and climate change as a result of the issues it covers. Through this platform, pre-service teachers will be able to access content related to the use of AR applications in environmental education. In addition, information about digital content development processes using AR applications will be given on this platform. In this way, pre-service teachers will learn the use of AR applications for their own work.
This work package consists of "Teacher Environmental Edu Guide Based on AR Applications" which contributes the general objectives and specific objectives of the project. The most relevant priority of the project is to support the digital and green capabilities of higher education. Additional priorities were "Environment and fight against climate change" and "Stimulating innovative learning and teaching practices". This output of the project is aligned with these priorities and contributes to the objectives of the project. The general aim of this project is to enable pre-service teachers to use augmented reality (AR) applications effectively in primary education environmental education. In this work package, a Teacher Environmental Education Guide Based on AR Applications will be developed. This guide will be a resource for pre-service teachers, teachers and other educators. It will show step-by-step primary school pre-service teachers and teachers how to use the modular environmental education curriculum in their teaching and learning activities. Through this guide, pre-service teachers and teachers will use AR applications effectively and efficiently in environmental education. With the environmental education guide based on AR applications created in this study package, pre-service teachers will gain competencies on how to teach and motivate students in primary school environmental education. This innovative teaching guide will enable prospective teachers to actively use AR applications in their learning and teaching activities. Thus, it will contribute to the achievement of excellence in learning, teaching and knowledge development in the digital environment. In addition, the increased use of digital tools will reduce carbon emissions.
This work package includes dissemination activities consisting of 10 seminars, 1 international conference, 2 articles and 3 e-newsletter that contribute to the general and specific objectives of the project. One of these activities is seminars. Each partner will organize seminars to introduce the research outputs to the target audience. In these seminars, "Modular Curriculum Designed With Use of AR in Environmental Education", "Virtual Environmental Education Platform" and "Teacher Environmental Edu Guide Based on AR Applications" will be shared with the target audience. Pre-service teachers, teachers, lecturers and other participants will learn what the Modular Curriculum Designed With Use of AR covers and how it works. They will learn what the content of the Virtual Environmental Education Platform is and how they can benefit from the AR-based content, video and animated PowerPoint presentations. In the Teacher Environmental Edu Guide Based on AR Applications, what it does and how it helps teachers will be explained. The international conference will also announce the content of the seminar to a wider audience and contribute to the dissemination of innovative technologies such as AR applications in universities. In addition, the conference proceeding book will be an output that can always be accessed by those concerned. The e-newsletter that will be published as a result of each research will contribute to the understanding and dissemination of innovative technologies such as AR.
